BCECE, Bihar Combined Entrance Competetive Exam is conducted every year by BCECE board Patna for admission to first year degree course in engineering, Pharmacy & agriculture streas in Govt/ Govt recognised technical instituions of Bihar. The state Govt. of Bihar is also authorised to nominate the students for admission to technical institute in other states for which the merit in BCECE is considered.

The notification for Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination (BCECE)-2011 has been issued & the exam is going to be held in two stages. The First Stage Examination is scheduled to be held on 24.04.2011 and the Date of Second Stage Examination is scheduled to be held on 29.05.2011.

The price of one Application Form inclusive of the Prospectus and the Examination Fee per candidate for appearing in PCM / PCB subject group is Rs. 300/- for SC/ST candidates & Rs. 600/- for General & all other candiates.

. In our opinion this is the toughest of state levels exam with over one lac students fighting for few thousand engineering seats. After IITs & NITs, only 3/4 thousand of Bihar students get absorbed in the few state level colleges. The rest of the students are compelled to move towards other states to fulfil there engineering dream. The favourite destinations being the Bangalore, Chennai & Hyderabad. Lot of students move to Delhi-NCR & some to Haryana & Punjab colleges. There are lots of colleges in these states which survive only over the intake from Bihar & are known as Bihari colleges.

At present there are about eleven engineering colleges out of which one is for Agri. engg. & one for Dairy Tech in the state of Bihar.
